The long-promised second phase of The Underline, the $140 million urban trail and linear park that runs under the elevated Metrorail tracks, is officially open.
On Wednesday, Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava held a ribbon-cutting ceremony but joggers, cyclists, scooter-riders, skaters and dog-walkers — not to mention the monarch butterflies — have already been out basking in the verdant transformation of more than two miles of once-scruffy terrain.
